CD/FW
has performed at retirement centers, hospitals, festivals, club meetings, college
campuses, youth programs, recreation centers, shopping centers, parking garages,
museums, juvenile detention centers, and workplaces in an effort to engage and
reach new audiences.
- "You never know when
a dance might happen." CD/FW's "Random Acts of Dance" is an
outreach performance format designed to bring structured improvisations to
unusual performance venues that bring art to daily life.
- Community groups have benefitted
from CD/FW programming, including: HOPE at Ripley Arnold Housing (Helping
One Person Excel, sponsored by Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention), Boys &
Girls Clubs, Dance Survey and MLA classes at Texas Christian University, Camp
Fire Boys & Girls, The Texas Girls Choir, the Fort Worth Ballet Docents
Program, I Have A Dream "Dream Directions" program, Huguley Retirement
Center, the Fort Worth Woman's Club, and Cook-Fort Worth Children's Hospital.
CD/FW has presented site-specific works for unusual venues (parking garages,
lobbies/escalators) and commissions for local festivals.
- Audience members have opportunities
for life-long learning through informal post-performance discussions. Question
and answer sessions are featured after each showcase concert.
